Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Leon County Criminal History. Reading a page, submitting a search, or otherwise using the website means that you accept them. Do not continue using the site if you disagree with any condition.

NO FCRA USE. Leon County Criminal History is privately owned and has no connection to a local, Texas, or federal government body. This site and its advertising partners do not provide tools for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource helps visitors locate criminal-record channels in Leon County, Texas. It is neither a private investigation service nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operating independently of government. We neither store official criminal records nor retrieve records, perform official checks, or file documents for a visitor.

Our material points to the Leon County Sheriff's Office, the criminal court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety repository, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use bots, scraping software, or another automated collection method
  • Harass, stalk, intimidate, or threaten anyone with information found here
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Violate a federal, Texas, or local law
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any site system
  • Disrupt performance or interfere with another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked tool may be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate against a person. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 restricts misuse of Texas Public Sex Offender Registry information, and conduct aimed at injuring or harassing a listed person may be criminal. Registry publication supports public safety. It does not authorize vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Our advertising partners are not presented as services for applicant, renter, credit, or insurance screening. Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Determine eligibility for credit or set insurance terms
  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A check needed for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider or the proper official Texas channel.

5. No Legal Advice

The site does not give legal advice. General descriptions of Leon County records cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, expunction, or order of nondisclosure applies to one case. A licensed Texas attorney should address that question.

6. No Warranties

All material is supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • The site will remain continuously available
  • Partner search results will be complete or correct
  • Every page is free from errors, defects, or security risks
  • Information is current, complete, or accurate at a particular time

Charges may be filed or dismissed, and records may later be restricted or expunged. Updates can lag. No statement here is an official representation from the Leon County sheriff, a clerk, Texas DPS, or another government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to county offices, court portals, Texas agencies, legal resources, and independent search services. Those destinations are outside our control. We are not responsible for their availability, charges, content, or data practices. Review the destination's own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Leon County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, logos, graphics, and code. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the site, a linked service, or information obtained from either.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or actions caused by your use of the site or a violation of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from site use must be brought in a court located in Texas. Official-record access remains subject to the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and Texas criminal-history dissemination is governed in part by Government Code Sections 411.083 through 411.085.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions
